UCA defense performing huge in ALL of college football
Bears racking up sacks with front-line pressure, maybe even at numbers keeping up with FBS school in numbers.
CONWAY, Ark. — For all of the attention the big boy schools get, Central Arkansas is measuring up pretty well. At least through the first three games.
It was interesting to see a post on X from College Football Report on the most sacks … then look at what UCA is doing behind David Walker and Co.
Most Team Sacks in College Football:
Rice – 14
South Carolina – 12
Indiana – 12
Miami – 12
Texas State – 12
Michigan State – 11
Oklahoma – 11
Pitt – 11
San Diego State – 11
Toledo – 11
Kansas State – 10
North Carolina – 10
Ole Miss – 10
Virginia Tech – 10 pic.twitter.com/zYy1ZXZ6E6— College Football Report (@CFBRep) September 18, 2024
It didn’t take long for the folks with the Bears running social media noticed this, checked with the sports information office and put the facts out there.
They pointed out a very interesting stat with an X post of their own.

As the posting was strictly for FBS schools, it’s hard to jump up and down over UCA having 15 sacks for 79 yards in total losses. They really weren’t including those teams in the rankings.
Walker (5.5-43 yards) and Samuel Horton (3.5-12) are racking up some big numbers. In some of the games they’ve appeared almost unstoppable at times. Maybe the best thing for Nathan Brown’s defense are the plays that don’t show up in the stats.
They create such havoc, leading to rushed throws that fall incomplete. If the front pressure continues, they will get more than the two interceptions they currently have.
But at least now Bear fans will have the real numbers.
