Central Arkansas men’s golf finishes 15th at Golfweek Fall Challenge

Central Arkansas kicked off its 2026-27 golf season with a three-day trip to the South Carolina coast.

The Bears teed it up in the Golfweek Fall Challenge at True Blue Golf Club in Pawleys Island.

The event ran as stroke play across three rounds. It marked the first competitive test for UCA’s roster this fall.

The Bears didn’t have their best week on the scoreboard. They finished the tournament at +20 (884) as a team.

That total left UCA in 15th place out of 16 teams in the field. It wasn’t the start the Bears were hoping for.

There were still some bright spots along the way. UCA carded 37 birdies across the three rounds of play.

Georgia Southern ran away with the team title. The Eagles shot an impressive -26 (838) to top the leaderboard.

Norman paces the Bears

Freshman Sam Norman turned in the steadiest week for UCA. He finished even par for the tournament with rounds of even, -2 and +2.

Junior Blane Burk wasn’t far behind him. Burk shot +5 overall with rounds of +4, +1 and even.

Freshman Leopold Isserentant carded a +9 for the event. His rounds went +6, even and +3 across the three days.

Sophomore Cohen Kinnard also finished at +9. He posted rounds of +2, +5 and +2 at True Blue.

Freshman David Hornberger rounded out the Bears’ scoring. He shot +18 with rounds of +3, +8 and +7.

What’s next for the Bears

UCA won’t have much time to dwell on the finish. The Bears are already looking ahead to their next tournament.

UCA will pack up and head to Florida next week. The Bears are set to compete in the Sandestin Collegiate Classic.

It’s still early in the fall slate for UCA. There’s plenty of golf left before the Bears turn their attention to conference play.
