Bears roll past Champion Christian 110-63 in home opener
UCA gets a commanding 110-63 home-opening victory behind 17 three-pointers and strong team play
CONWAY, Ark. — Central Arkansas (1-1, 0-0 ASUN) celebrated their first home game of the season by decisively defeating Champion Christian (2-1), 110-63, at the Farris Center on Saturday.
The Bears drained 17 three-pointers and forcing 16 turnovers.
UCA opened the half with a dunk from Malchiah Marable assisted by Camren Hunter, setting an early tone. A momentum shift occurred at the 12:15 mark when the Bears took the lead with a layup from Javion Guy-King. The Bears maintained their momentum, pushing the score to 53–38 by the end of the first half.
The second half started with the Bears going on an early 11-0 run, initiated by Rashad Bolden’s steal and subsequent three-pointer at 18:51, to extend its lead.

Truman Byrne contributed significantly, securing rebounds and adding six points during this stretch. The Bears maintained momentum, Ty Robinson scored on a fast break layup at 11:44, which pushed the score to 80-46.
By the end of the second half, the Bears outscored Champion Christian 57-25, securing a decisive victory with a final score of 110-63.
Hunter scored 13 points and recorded four assists, contributing on both ends with two steals. Robinson led the team with 17 points, making four 3-pointers and collecting four rebounds.
Guy-King added seven points and was as playmaker with five assists. Tyler Lee made all his field goal attempts, finishing with seven points and two steals, while also gathering four rebounds.
UCA improved to 1-1, Champion Christian fell to 2-1 on the season.
Up next, the Bears will face off against the Arkansas Razorbacks on Tuesday at 7 p.m. in Fayetteville, Ark.
