Sugar Bears’ Fisher gets academic honors from ASUN headed to postseason
Earns second Academic All-ASUN nod, one of three players on team and first Sugar Bear to earn the honor multiple times

CONWAY, Ark. — Central Arkansas starts the postseason with a little bit of academic hardware, as Kinley Fisher was named to her second-straight Academic All-ASUN Team, the league announced.
Fisher, a finance major, holds a 3.82 cumulative GPA, and has consistently been a shining example of how to balance the rigors of Division I basketball with her academics.
She has done so while posting multiple semesters with a 4.0, and has done so while developing into one of the best guards in the ASUN.
She earned her second-career Academic All-ASUN nod, one of three players on this year’s team and the first Sugar Bear to earn the honor multiple times.
“Kinley works extremely hard on and off the floor. Her academic prowess shines though in her ability to run our team and manage a basketball game. It is quite an accomplishment for her to be recognized on this team in back-to-back years,” said coach Tony Kemper.
On the floor, Fisher has averaged 10.6 points per game, leading the Sugar Bears in free throws (91) and free throw percentage (87.5%) for a second-straight year.
She added 2.6 rebounds and 2.2 assists per game, and contributed 26 steals and five blocked shots. This season, Fisher passed 900 career points, doing so against West Georgia, and ranks sixth all-time in UCA’s Division I history with 109 three-pointers.
Fisher and the Sugar Bears head into the ASUN Championship as the league’s No. 2 seed, and will host the winner of Jacksonville and Bellarmine on Saturday.
