UCA Ranked 8th in Latest Top 25 Rankings

CONWAY, Ark. – Despite a 28-point win, Central Arkansas dropped one spot in the latest Stats Perform FCS Top 25 Rankings.

The Bears (2-1) fell to No. 8 in the rankings and Southern Illinois (2-1) moved up two spots to No. 7 after beating then-No. 12 Incarnate Word 35-28 last week. The rest of the top 10 ranked teams weren’t changed.

UCA did what it needed to do to keep its top 10 ranking, easily dispatching Austin Peay 45-17 on Saturday (a larger margin of victory than Southern Illinois had two weeks ago). ShunDerrick Powell’s 200-plus yard and three touchdown performance in that game earned him FCS Offensive Player of the Week honors. Darius Hale also had a big game, rushing for 145 yards on 14 carries and two touchdowns against Austin Peay.

UCA will be back in action this Saturday at Arkansas-Pine Bluff. Kick off is set for 6 p.m.
