Two teams still looking for a UAC win meet Saturday at Estes Stadium.

Only one of them gets to cross it off the list.

Central Arkansas vs. West Georgia kicks off at 4 p.m. in Conway, Ark. Both sit at 0-4 in United Athletic Conference play. UCA is 2-7 overall. West Georgia’s 1-8.

It’s the last of three straight home games for the Bears. The first two were tight right up to the final whistle.

Nathan Brown is in his ninth season as head coach. Steve Englehart is in his first with the Wolves.

West Georgia’s had a rough month. The Wolves have lost four straight, all against UAC opponents.

Those four games weren’t close. West Georgia got outscored 162-36.

Series tied at 5-5

This matchup goes back to 1993, when both schools played in NCAA Division II.

They’ve met 10 times. Each side has won five.

Saturday’s winner walks away with the series lead.

Quarterback Colton Fitzgerald runs the West Georgia offense. He’s thrown for 1,666 yards with 10 touchdowns and seven interceptions while completing 60% of his passes.

DK Daniel is his favorite target. Daniel’s 397 receiving yards and three touchdown catches are both team highs.

Christian Monfort handles most of the work in the backfield. He’s got 208 net yards on 56 carries, about 3.7 a pop, plus three touchdowns.

Williams near the top of the FCS

UCA’s best answer for all that might be Ashtyn Williams.

The sophomore linebacker has 97 tackles. He ranks third in the FCS in total tackles.

He’s averaging 10.8 a game, which is fourth nationally.

Williams also has 3.5 tackles for loss, one sack and one interception.

West Georgia’s got a linebacker who fills up the stat sheet, too. Chidu Bekee has 72 tackles, six tackles for loss, three sacks and two interceptions.

Nobody on the Wolves has more tackles.

Washington’s long run

Jalen Washington went 92 yards on one carry last week.

The redshirt freshman is up to 771 net rushing yards for the Bears.

Sophomore quarterback Donovyn Omolo has 1,540 passing yards and eight touchdowns.

Omolo’s completing 61% of his throws.

Dakarai Anderson is still the top receiver with 469 yards.

UCA captains DaMari Smith and Anderson talked about the game in an audio preview.
