After falling in opener against Missouri, Bears start home lineup
UCA looking to get things on track against Golden Lions, who also fell in opener against Texas Tech last week

CONWAY, Ark. — Central Arkansas kicks off their home opener against the Arkansas-Pine Bluff Golden Lions on Sept. 6 at 6 p.m.
Fans can look forward to witnessing the Bears and Golden Lions clash in what will be their 16th meeting since the teams first faced off in 1970. Historically, the Bears have dominated the match-ups, securing victories in 13 of these encounters.
The last time the Golden Lions visited “The Stripes” was on Sept. 18, 2021, when the Bears emerged victorious with a score of 45-23. In their most recent meeting in Pine Bluff last year, the Bears again triumphed, winning 56-17.
Both teams enter this game following losses in their season openers against Power 4 opponents. The Bears played against Missouri, while the Golden Lions faced Texas Tech. This home opener presents a perfect opportunity for the Bears to bounce back and demonstrate their capabilities.
UCA coach Nathan Brown expressed his enthusiasm for the upcoming game.
“We are excited to be at home, in front of our fans, and on ‘The Stripes,’ he said. “We are expecting a great crowd and great effort from our team. I think the team knows the talent that we have in our locker room and are excited about what we can accomplish this season.”
The game will be available for streaming on ESPN+. Fans can also listen to the live broadcast on The Bear 91.3 or The Point 94.1.
