Central Arkansas vs. Austin Peay: How to Watch

CONWAY, Ark. – Central Arkansas will have revenge on its mind Saturday night against Austin Peay.

The Governors ended the Bears’ 2023 season in a 14-12 loss in the regular season finale, giving the Governors the UAC championship and an automatic bid to the FCS tournament. The Bears went home.

However, there won’t be many players or coaches for Austin Peay when they arrive in Conway. The roster features 61 newcomers and just two returning starters from last year’s team, as well as new coaching staff.

Those changes haven’t amounted to much success on the field through two games. The Governors lost to Louisville 62-0 to start the season and the lost 31-17 at home to Southern Illinois.

Austin Peay won’t see the same Bears team either. In contrast to last year’s defensive slugfest, UCA’s offense is averaging nearly 500 yards per game and racked up 554 yards last week in a 34-13 win over Lindenwood.

Defensively, the Bears are giving up an average of 361.5 yards per game, 23.5 points per game and are second in FCS with five sacks.
