Bears down Lipscomb 86-78 in key ASUN road game
Central Arkansas earned an 86-78 road win at Lipscomb, led by Camren Hunter’s 32 points and strong play in the paint.
NASHVILLE, Tenn. — Central Arkansas continued its strong ASUN run with an 86-78 road victory over Lipscomb on Saturday night at Allen Arena.
UCA used early momentum, interior scoring, and steady late execution to secure its seventh straight win.
The Bears jumped out quickly, opening the game with a 10-0 run that set the tone on both ends of the floor.
UCA never trailed during the opening stretch and maintained control throughout most of the first half.
Senior guard Camren Hunter delivered one of his best performances of the season, scoring 32 points while adding seven rebounds.
He scored from all three levels and consistently answered Lipscomb runs with timely baskets.
UCA finished the first half with a 45-33 lead, using ball movement and physical play inside to build separation.
The Bears scored efficiently around the rim and capitalized on second-chance opportunities.
Ty Robinson anchored the interior, pulling down a career-high 13 rebounds.
His presence helped UCA limit Lipscomb’s offensive rebounds while creating extra possessions on the other end.
Balanced Attack Keeps Bears in Control
Cole McCormick added 21 points, marking his highest scoring output of the season.
He knocked down key shots late in the first half and continued to space the floor during the second half.
Luke Moore contributed 15 points, including a transition three early in the second half that pushed the Bears’ lead to double digits.
His scoring provided balance and prevented Lipscomb from focusing solely on Hunter.
UCA finished the game with 42 points in the paint, repeatedly attacking the rim and taking advantage of defensive breakdowns.
The Bears also forced 15 turnovers, turning pressure defense into scoring chances.
Lipscomb made several pushes during the second half, trimming the deficit to single digits in the final minute.
However, UCA remained composed and executed late possessions to keep the lead intact.
Free throws in the closing seconds sealed the win and allowed the Bears to close out another difficult ASUN road environment.
Momentum Continues in ASUN Play
The victory marked UCA’s third straight road win and further strengthened its position near the top of the ASUN standings.
The Bears have now won seven consecutive games, showing consistency on both ends of the floor.
Hunter’s scoring led the way, but the performance was fueled by rebounding, interior scoring, and defensive activity from the entire rotation.
UCA’s ability to control the paint and limit turnovers continues to be a key factor during conference play, especially in tight road matchups.
The Bears will now turn their attention to another ASUN road test, traveling to North Alabama for a Monday night matchup with a 6 p.m. tip-off.
With conference play tightening, UCA remains focused on sustaining momentum as the regular season moves deeper into February.
